So the Crookers have finally released their long-awaited album Tons of Friends. They have even been so kind as to put the songs up on their Myspace page and it does not disappoint. This diverse body of work incorporates a multitude of influences and sounds from spacey synths with angelic singing to more mainstream hip-hop infused electro-pop songs featuring the likes of Kardinal Offishal, Kelis and Pitbull. They have also incorporated dubstep into the album with some addicting wobbly base. One thing is universal across all the songs, though; they bring it big time. Every song is unique, exciting and is guaranteed to get your head bobbin’. This is nothing new from this Italian duo but after the extreme popularity of their Day ‘N’ Nite remix, they had to deliver–and they did. The Crookers have just set out on a European tour (no American appearances on the list yet, boo), so for now we will have to do with the album download that will be sure to light up dance floors and blow up the airwaves very soon.
